Autumn is around the corner so I decided to take my first stab at sewing a crew neck sweater. I went to the thrift store and picked up two oversized sweaters as the material and got to work. Upcycling, you know. But also, why waste money and new fabrics if I’ve never done it before, right?!

I also checked in with my crops one more time.

And finally, a new character joins the cast. Professor Cornelius Quiring. Oh boy …

It was the last week before school started again so my nephew and I spent the time together at grandma’s house.

Last week I started making a pair of shorts and I got them about halfway done, so this week, I finished them. Makes sense, right?

And I didn’t bandy about this week either, I just got to it … I think.

After I finished them, I even tried out a few different looks of how I can wear them. Turns out it’s fun to do a bit of roleplaying.

Autumn is about a month away and the weather is going to become a bit chiller, so why not make a pair of #shorts? Seems to make logical sense, right?!

Truthfully, the purpose of #sewing these shorts is for the practise. Also, I used some left over fabric from a pair of upcycled shorts I made many moons ago.

Finally, Manny and I also did a bit of role playing and I called the therapist … all to help me with my dismal dating life.

With the shirt done, the only thing left was for the actual wedding to happen, so both sides of the family convened at my sister & brother-in-law’s home.

But more then just it being a wedding, I learned something new about my family that had never been talked about.

This is the story of the whole weekend.

Last week I started working on a shirt that I’m going to wear for my sister’s wedding. This week, I finished said button-up and I can genuinely say, I kinda like it. I am okay with the sewing and the fit is pretty good. But not only did I get the shirt done, my sisters

My sister is getting married! Well technically, she is already married, but they’re having a big celebration to bring the two sides of the family together so I’m going to take the occasion to make something new for myself!

It’s going to be an outdoor affair so I’m going to make myself a summertime shirt. I’m going to make the shirt I’m wearing in this video, but better. Yay me.

I’ve been working hard all summer. Making money work, not fun, silly goose sewing videos hard work. Sure, my bank account has been flush with cash but my life has fallen out of balance.

So this week’s video is two things, a therapeutic venting session and a chance to catch up on some patterning odds & ends I’ve been meaning to do.

My ironing board looks like bloody murder, literally. I accidentally melted my red wax tailor crayons in a previous video, combined with it just being really old and stained over time. Full disclosure, I did get it for free so who knows the history?!

So … I went to the haberdashery shop, picked up my supplies, then stopped by the thrift store for fabric and got to work.

This week there was no time for any goofs or gaffs, it was straight to business to get the pants done. This series has gotten too long. I did however invite my family (Manny & Mandy) to hang out while I sewed because I figured they could offer the entertainment factor. They did. Watch the
