A few weeks ago I made a pair of shorts to test out my pants pattern updates. Well I liked the shorts enough that I decided to remake them properly. While I worked, I reminisced about and shared some stories of my summer in South Africa.

The waistband needs to be squared out. Notice how there is two points at the front where it overlaps. Also, the topstitching along the bottom of the waistband is rather wobbly.

The welt pockets in the back I am chuffed with. Also, the fit is nice.

Last week, Handyman Corn took over my video and put up some lights in the studio, so I took the time to tweak my pants pattern.

This week, I decided to make myself a pair of pants from said pattern and guess who showed up unannounced to make some “minor adjustments” to the lighting setup?!

This is my sewing show. I am not a fan of this Handyman Corn!

I have 2 out of the 3 lights necessary for a proper basic studio lighting set-up. Lighting the backdrop is my third missing link. A trip to Home Depot later and I got to making.

I’m starting to get the hang of sewing, but it’s never bad to learn from a pro with decades of experience, so I made the pilgrimage to my hometown on the Greyhound chariot and took a seat at the bench of my mothers knowledge. Mom made a skirt.
