I bought myself a beautiful authentic, albeit overpriced, cable knit wool sweater. I need to size it down a bit for myself. I don’t want to hack it together either, so I have decided to take the time to learn proper knitting and do a good job of it. Turns out knitting is considerably harder than I had anticipated … surprise.

Poppa Plants also showed up again and was extra mean to me this time.

I loved the waxed cotton coat I sewed myself, but putting it on is a struggle. Between the fitted profile and the rigidity of the waxed cotton it gets difficult, so I decided to add a zipper to the side of the jacket.

We also meet Working Corn. He pays the bills around here. He also struggles to manage his emotions.

Last week I started working on transforming some t-shirts into a polo shirt. The goal was to finish said polo and … well … you’ll see.

What didn’t help either was that I had some slight sniffles.

I started working on transforming some tees into a polo shirt, but then realized I had made things more difficult for myself then they needed to me. Next I had to go grab another t-shirt from the thrift store to cut up so in the mean time, Poppa Plants took over and finished out the episode.

I started making 2 white button ups last week.

This week my biggest challenge was sewing the plackets. I took the time to figure out my placket pattern properly and the whole project took much more time then I had anticipated, but I got them done and it has all be worth it. I have two classic white button ups now.

I picked up a white king size bed sheet at the thrift store and got to work turning it into two button up shirts. I had planned for it to be a straightforward sewing video, but once it came to the collars, I messed up again! I’ve been sewing for two years now and I still struggle sewing collars!

I operate on a weekly schedule. My weekly videos are a big part of this. It also seems my sewing supplies are low so for this week’s video, I went around Toronto to pick up some supplies.

Finally, I got myself something nice.

In the spring, mom and I planted some veggies. I put some in containers in my apartment, but we also planted vegetables in her garden.

Well now it’s harvest season. Here’s an update on both hers and mine.

It seems Suspicious Corn isn’t ready to give up on his quest from last week to find out why I’m doing “simple projects” so he continued to hassle me this week. Despite his interferences, I efficiently used left over fabric to sew shorts and a sweater.

This week I looked back at some of my previous sewing projects. I fixed a few of them and reviewed others. Some items are staples in my wardrobe now while others are simply lost causes.

Oh, and there’s a new Corn in town. Suspect Corn.
